In a round robin tournament, every team plays every other team exactly once. For N teams, there are N-1 rounds (or N rounds if the number of teams is odd, with one bye per round). This generator uses the standard polygon rotation algorithm to produce a balanced schedule.

Six teams produce 5 rounds of 3 games, 15 games in total, and every team plays every other team once. Seven teams produce 7 rounds of 3 games, with one team sitting out each round.
A round robin is the fairest format when every team should get the same number of games. It suits a rec league regular season, and pool play before a tournament bracket. It gets long with a lot of teams: 12 teams need 66 games over 11 rounds. Past about 10 teams, split into two divisions that each play their own round robin, then bring the top teams together for playoffs.
The number of games you can play in a night is your fields multiplied by your time slots. Eight teams need 4 games per round, so two fields with two slots each finish a round in one night. If you can only fit three games, enter 3 in the games per week box and the rounds will be spread across the weeks. When you assign times, rotate the early and late slots so the same team is not stuck with the last game every week.
The team listed first is the home team. In a single round robin with an even number of teams, each team plays an odd number of games, so home games cannot be split perfectly evenly. A double round robin fixes that: every pairing is played once at each team's home.
Use the final standings to seed your playoffs. The standings calculator sorts teams by points and tiebreakers, and the bracket generator turns those seeds into a single or double elimination bracket.
For N teams there are N × (N − 1) ÷ 2 games. 4 teams play 6 games, 6 teams play 15, 8 teams play 28, and 10 teams play 45.
One team has a bye each round. The byes rotate so every team sits out exactly once.
Every team plays every other team twice, usually once at home and once away. Run the generator, then repeat the schedule with home and away swapped for the second half.
With an even number of teams, a single round robin takes N − 1 weeks if every team plays once a week. Eight teams need 7 weeks; add a week or two for playoffs and rainouts.
